This coming February 17, 2007, twenty five artists from Hawaii and the Mainland converge on the Island of Maui for the second Maui Plein Air Painting Invitational. Plein Air artists will be seen painting everything from Maui's pristine beaches, plantation houses and upcountry vistas to Lahaina's bustling harbor and town scene. From Kapalua to Ho'okipa, the public will have opportunities to meet the talented artists and watch them at work.

The event kicks off on February 17 at Kapalua, with an artists' breakfast orientation at the Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, followed by a paint out at Fleming Beach, including hotel vicinity. The freshly painted 25 works of art will be on display at Village Galleries, Kapalua throughout the week to view and purchase by collectors and art lovers.
Following the Kapalua paint out the artists will fan out and paint from sunrise to sunset for 5 days.

The week climaxes on Friday, February 23 at the "Starbucks Lahaina Quick Draw". This is when the 25 artists will begin a painting at 9:00 am and finish it by 11:00 am at the Lahaina Harbor. Friday evening three of their best paintings from the week plus the Quick-draw painting will be unveiled, framed at "Village Gallery Contemporary" Gala Reception. At this "Friday Night is Art Night" Gala event collectors and art lovers will have a first glimpse to view and purchase the fresh work. On Saturday morning artists will replace sold works from friday night with fresh new works. Collectors will have a second opportunity to meet the artists at this morning's "Coffee and Pastries with the Artists" at the gallery. The show then runs thru Sunday.

The 25 top participating artists are made up of Hawaii artists and guest artists from the Mainland.
